Alvin Greene, Man of the Year
Ah, the curious case of South Carolina Senate candidate Alvin Greene. Time Magazine met up with Greene at his home (well his father’s home) to talk about the controversy surrounding his candidate. They write, “As recently as Memorial Day, Alvin Greene was an unemployed 32-year-old, facing an obscenity charge. What he became after winning 59% of the vote in the June 8 Democratic primary is now in dispute.” But Greene denies assumptions that he’s a plant or his candidacy is a hoax. He simply thinks he’s the best man for the job. And aside from Senator , there’s another title he’d like to add to his roster. While speaking to the magazine, Greene said, "And I am also the best person to be TIME magazine's Man of the Year." If he ends up somehow becoming the next Senator from South Carolina, he won’t have to worry about getting face time in the press.
